Double Entry Journal 1

Double Entry Journal 1

Q DOUBLE ENTRY JOURNAL (DEJ) Choose FIVE different sentences that you think are important from the assigned reading. Copy each sentence down. Below each, write (in at least 160 word sentences) your reaction to that sentence. The main difference between receiving a "5" or "3" or "1" for this assignment is the depth of your discussion. What does this mean? An organized and well thought out discussion of the sentence that indicates to me you've done the reading and have thought out your reaction. Maybe the sentence reminds you of another course material, a personal experience, something you’ve observed. Feel free to write about your feelings about the sentence - perhaps you disagree with the author or are shocked by something the author has written. An in-depth discussion may include quotes from other readings or other sections of the same reading. Double entry journals are each worth up to 5 points and will be graded in the following way: Score 5 Meets or exceeds required length and format. Detailed in-depth discussion of the sentence. 4 Meets required length and format. Partially detailed in-depth discussion of the sentence. 3 Meets required length and format. Not an in-depth discussion of the sentence. 2 Meets some of the required length and format. Poor quality discussion of the sentence. 0-1 Did not meet required length and format. Chapter 9: Sexuality Surveys reveal that as many as one in five women will experience some form of assault while a college student.

Q Sexuality involves more than personal choices about who our sexual partners are and what we do with them.People sometimes think that sexuality is the most “natural” thing in the world. It is important to note that the perspectives of evolutionary biology and cultural constructionism discussed in this section need not be mutually exclusive. The cultural renegotiation of socially acceptable patterns of relationship and sexuality leaves very few in the United States untouched.

I think that the results of the surveys are true because I have some female friends who have been victims of assaults or molestations while they had been in college. The problem is that women are objectified more when they are young and college-going women are at the best possible age for defining exuberance and beauty of youth. There can be blackmailing of college-going women after they might have been emotionally and physically/sexually intimate with a college-going man.
